A Study on Photo-Luminescence Spectrum Properties of ZnS:Mn QD Prepared by Wet-Process
Ji Min Cha, Yoon Ji Lee, Seong Cheol Moon, Seong Eui Lee
J Electr Electron Mater 2017;30(1):42-47.   Published online January 1, 2017
In this study, the physical and optical properties of ZnS:Mn2+ Quantum Dot prepared by wet-process condition with Mn/Zn ratio was valuated. The powder characteristics and optical behavior were investigated through XRD, TEM and Photo spectrometer exicted by various UV light source. We found the main peak of ZnS (111) was shifted by 0.8 degree to low angle position with increasing stirring energy from 200 RPM to 600 RPM, which is thought to be the increase of lattice defects during wet process. The photo luminescence at 600 RPM shows also higher blue intensity which is well correlated with XRD results. With increasing Mn/Zn ratio, the PL intensity become higher and shifed by 8.5nm to right side, by the increment of substitutional Mn2+ ions.

High Voltage and Discharge Engineering : Properties of Current due to Voltage in Heat Conductive Silicone Rubber
Sung Ill Lee
J Electr Electron Mater 2014;27(9):576-581.   Published online September 1, 2014
This study used the heat conductive silicone rubber sample of 0.95 mm thickness to research the properties of current by changing voltage. When the 1, 10, 30, 60, and 90 minute have passed, the running current has been measured through the applied voltage range of 200 V~800 V on setting temperature of 110℃~170℃. As the temperature increased in applied voltage of 800 V, so did the current value according to time in proportion to the increasing temperature. In an analysis of FT-IR (fouriertransform infrared) spectrum, the hydroxyl radicals group(O-H) was created by effects of the hydrogen that methyl group is eliminated by addition of the cross-linking agent peroxide.

J Electr Electron Mater 2013;26(4):309-314.   Published online April 1, 2013
This paper dealt with the radiated electromagnetic wave detection of partial discharge (PD) in oil for insulation diagnostics of oil-immersed transformers. Three types of electrode system were fabricated to simulate the insulation defects that could occur in oil-immersed transformers. Frequency components of radiated electromagnetic wave in oil was measured by broadband bi-conical antennas of 300 MHz∼2 GHz and a spectrum analyzer of 9 kHz∼3 GHz. Frequency component of electromagnetic waves from PD in oil were highly distributed at 500 MHz. From the result, a narrow-band monopole antenna with the center frequency of 500 MHz was fabricated. We could detect PD signal in insulation oil without an influence of external noise by a measurement system which consists of the prototype monopole antenna, a LNA (Low Noise Amplifier), an oscilloscope and a spectrum analyzer.

Light Source and Application Technology : Support of Automatic Calibration for Computerized Puretone Audiometer Using Linux Real-time Spectrum Analyzer
Seung Hee Lee, Bum Joo Shin, Bok Deuk Song, Jin Dong Kim, Gye Rok Jeon, Soo Geon Wang
J Electr Electron Mater 2012;25(10):837-843.   Published online October 1, 2012
Compared to conventional pure-tone audiometer (PTA), the computerized one has several advantages such as relatively lower price, better flexibility, and easy operation. In addition, the computerized PTA can be easily extended to support automatic calibration. In this study, the support of automatic calibration in the computerized PTA has been addressed using the Linux realtime spectrum analyzer and network. In terms of accuracy, the new automatic calibration machine was compared to the existing manually operated one. According to the comparison, normal operation and high accuracy were observed within the scope of the international standard.

Regular Paper : Thickness and Angle Dependent Microcavity Properties in Top-Emission Organic Light-Emitting Diodes
Won Jae Lee
J Electr Electron Mater 2011;24(1):32-35.   Published online January 1, 2011
Top-emission device has a merit of high aperture ratio and narrow emission spectrum compared to that of bottom-emission one. Emission spectra of top-emission organic light-emitting diodes depending on a layer thickness and view angle were analyzed using a theory of microcavity. Device structure was manufactured to be Al (100 nm)/TPD/Alq3/LiF (0.5 nm)/Al (2 nm)/Ag (30 nm). N,N`-diphenyl-N,N`- di (m-tolyl)-benzidine (TPD) and tris (8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminium (Alq3) were used as a hole-transport layer and emission layer, respectively. And a thickness of TPD and Alq3 layer was varied in a range of 40 nm~70 nm and 60 nm~110 nm, respectively. Angle-dependent emission spectrum out of the device was measured with a device fixed on a rotating plate. Since the top-emission device has a property of microcavity, it was observed that the emission spectrum shift to a longer wavelength region as the organic layer thickness increases, and to a shorter wavelength region as the view angle increases. Layer thickness and view-angle dependent emission spectra of the device were analyzed in terms of microcavity theory. A reflectivity of semitransparent cathode and optical path length were deduced.
